Helen Westbrook

Chair

Helen is originally from Prineville in sunny Central Oregon. She has a Bachelor of Science from University of Oregon and completed her medical technology training at U of O Medical School (OHSU). 

Heading to Alaska in 1970, she spent 18 years with the Providence Health Care System, primarily in clinical laboratory management and hospital-wide quality assurance. She returned to Oregon in 1988, owning/operating a small business and then working with Cannon Beach city government, the last few years as city manager. She also served two terms as a Clatsop County Commissioner. 

She moved from Astoria to join the Terwilliger Plaza community three years ago and has served on the Foundation Board and currently serves on the Plaza Board of Directors, the Plaza Finance Committee and is an active member of Emergency Preparedness Cmte. 

Outside of the Plaza, she enjoys working with the Board of Friends of Terwilliger Parkway and as a Portland Parks volunteer. The Parkway provides a favorite and frequent walk for Helen who also enjoys reading, movies and travel when possible.
