Here are the steps to take in the application process:

1. Select the apartment you want.

Once you have selected the apartment you want to reserve, you have up to 3 days to pay the application fee. We will hold the apartment for you during that time. The application fee is a portion of the membership fee and will be applied in full to the total membership fee you pay prior to taking possession of the apartment.

2. Complete the application for membership.

Fill in each area of the application, sign on the front and back and submit documentation of your assets and income along with your application. Typically documentation includes verification of assets and monthly income listed, such as copies of your tax returns, documents of home value, long term care insurance policies, bank account/mutual funds/and other investments. We will return any original documents you include and will make copies for you to submit with the application. Every three years, members are asked to update their financial information. This information is treated in confidence and is reviewed by our Chief Financial Officer. In the event your application is not approved for the apartment you chose, we would be happy to discuss alternative choices. If you decide not to proceed, your application fee will be refunded in full.

3. Make your selections.

Each apartment is evaluated for remodeling needs. In some instances, apartments will be available as is. If the apartment needs to be remodeled, you often will be able to choose finishes such as paint colors, flooring, carpeting, and countertops at no additional charge. Other enhancements may be available for an extra charge. We will give you an estimate of the costs for any upgrades before we begin so you can decide whether or not to proceed. We ask that you make all of your selections within 10 days of approval of your application.

4. Review the time period for completion and the estimated move-in date with your marketing representative.

Complete remodels normally take 90 days from the day your application is approved; allow at least 45 days for a minor remodel, such as painting only. In any event, at the end of the 90 days, you will pay the balance of your membership feeĀ  and sign a residency agreement then your monthly maintenance fee will begin. You may move in any time after that. Please do not schedule movers until we have a firm date that your apartment will be ready for occupancy. If your plans change and you decide not to move before you have paid your membership fee balance, your application fee, less a $1,000 processing fee and any upgrade fees, will be refunded to you within 30 days.
